What happened to me???

I haven't posted since July for a good reason! I was involved in an auto accident. Not only do you have to deal with the aftermath of the wreck itself, but the physical aspect as well.  My poor car was really crushed.  The airbag deployed and broke my sternum.  I have a nasty back anyway, and the accident really set off the pain in that.  So, after a long recovery.....I am back! The back is still a big problem, but at least I can get back to my hobby I love.

MY PAPER PUMPKIN!

Here is my card for My Pumpkin Challenge.  The September kit was so cute.  I like the Wahoo! stamp, and love the little "index card's" included.  I did use a digital owl image for my card. I created the text above the owl in Word, and colored my owl with SU watercolors.  Unfortunately, the watercolor pens have been retired.  I cut the bottom green piece off of the index card and reattached it the other direction so I could turn it sideways. I hope you like it!

Blessings!!  Have fun creating with your September kit!

July My Paper Pumpkin Kit is here!

Yea! My July Paper Pumpkin kit finally got here!!  (Yes, it was on time, but each month it seems like it takes forever! Like waiting for Christmas.)  I tried to get a picture of the entire kit, but there is so much inside.  It includes a "Party Pennants Stamp set".  Three cute stamps! Two sheets of die cuts.  Two Classic Stampin' Spots: Pool Party and Summer Starfruit.  Oh so pretty!!  Twenty inches of white bakers twine, Mini clothes pins, and skewers (long and short), and a square of dimensional's.  Wow! This will be fun!!

(Ok, I know I overdo it on exclamation points, but Stampin' Up is SO much fun...!)

I hope you can see most of the stuff in my picture of the box. I had better get busy!! If  you have the kit, go play. If you don't.....better join soon.  Make something and enter it in our challenge.  Go to Jessica Urrutia's, My Pumpkin Challenge site, using the button on the right, and read all about it.  Have fun my friends.  I'll be posting my first creation very soon.

My Paper Pumpkin

July 3rd, 2013

My Paper Pumpkin Card

My first card with the newest kit! I love this one. There are so many possibilities.  I used the "HELLO to you." stamp in the kit, but the rest came from a Stamp' Up set called "Every Little Bit". I didn't realize until after I made it that the stamp set has been retired.  Sorry! However, any stamp set with the small stamps will work.  I added two other Stampin' Up inks called: Bermuda Bay and Really Red. The little sun and animals are stamped inside the card. I then popped up a few of the little shapes, and drew on the flight of the bee. Done! Please click on the link to the right to see all of the entries to our My Paper Pumpkin challenge.  There is so much talent shown! I can't wait to make my next thing from this kit.  Better get busy.....

My Last Paper Pumpkin Post for June

Wow! Summer is flying by!! It is getting hotter and hotter, and I love it.  I am an island girl!!

This is the last picture of my little album. It was fun and so quick to make! I will add my pictures, and some cute little ribbon's tied to the binder rings. It will look nice on my shelf in my craft room. I am finally getting around to cleaning out and selling a lot of my scrapbooking items.  It is so hard to let go of my little "babies". I picked things out because I really liked them, so it makes it harder to give them up! However, I need room to update, and get rid of the things I bought that were never used.  Do you do that too? You see something that is "just perfect" and you KNOW you will use it someday.... Well, they are all looking at me tapping their little buttons and waiting for that day to come. I did part with a few things at a garage sale.  "Few" meaning a small percentage of what I got out to take....but didn't.  With the Lord's help, I am finally putting things into a box and feel much better saying I'm donating it to a good cause.  If you need to get rid of some of your precious crafting supplies, think about giving them to a Retirement Home that has crafting for their residents.  They can't really afford to buy the nice supplies we have, but still have the desire to make beautiful things.

On to happier things! Here are the photos for this weeks challenge for My Paper Pumpkin. I can't wait for next week to make something with my new June kit.  It is really cute!!

I am SO excited!  I love getting my kits in the mail each month. Even though I have never been a huge fan of kits....My Paper Pumpkin gives you so much to create with, and you can add more! Then I spend 24 hours a day crafting!!!!!  Of course, there is the last 24 hours before his return that I have to do a weeks worth of work. :(  Don't tell me you haven't wished for the same thing. :) Get your June kit NOW and play along with us.  Please join our Monthly Challenge. The link is on the right. Happy crafting!

My Paper Pumpkin

I am just a tiny bit late putting this up, but here goes! This is my sample to our Stampin'- Up My Paper Pumpkin challenge for June.  This little album is being made from my May kit.  I started to make some other things with part of it but, I really like little albums.  I am almost done. I still have two more pages and my back cover to put on.  Then, I think I will go back and add a few things here and there,  I just can't seem to leave things alone!   I can hardly wait for June's kit to get here. Enjoy your Paper Pumpkin.

A little something for a friend

My "sister by choice" recently had surgery.  I made this little stand up card for her. She and I both have quite a sense of humor, and I knew I couldn't send the usual "Get Well" card.  Boring!! If you can't read the script in the picture, it says "Are you cured yet?" This little pig was fun to make, and super easy. Most of the paper used was from Stampin' Up, the rest from my scrap stash. I made the envelope with Whisper White from Stampin' Up, and stamped it with the SU Delicate Doilies stamp. The ink I used was Primrose Petal's by Stampin' Up also. If you would like to know how to make this cute stand up card, leave a comment and I will be happy to post the measurements.

June 1st Paper Pumpkin Sample

Just one page out of my May Mini Album kit. This little book is so cute, and fun to make.  The kit comes with so much in it that there will be plenty left over to make other things! I love Mini Albums though, so I really wanted to complete the kit as it was meant to be.  However, since this months challenge is all about tags, and banners, I can't wait to tackle them for my album!  Or, something else completely out of the box. (since I like doing that!) Here is my first page preview from my album.....  I hope you enjoy the kit as much as I do.

My latest Stampin' Up Paper Pumpkin Card!

I made several slider cards for friends, and thought it would be something different to use My Paper Pumpkin kit for.  I wasn't as pleased with the results, since I did this in about 3.2 seconds! However, anything made with Stampin' Up is pretty.  I am normally not a big fan of kits, but these are awesome! There are enough "goodies" in each one to make several cards, or any other out of the box idea's you can come up with.  Just have a good time with it!

I am SO looking forward to the June kit!! Now I am working on the May kit. It's a mini Brag book!!  How cute!!!! Blessing's my friend's, and go be creative.

FIRE FIGHTER CARD

This is the card I made for my grandson.  Just thought I would post it and see what you think. It was fun to make, once I got started.  You know how something begins to form in your mind, but by the time you find the paper, etc., that you feel is right.....the idea has changed slightly.  The paper was from Stampin' Up and DCWV. The coat and helmet sticker was out of my stash.  After I got the front made, I smudged it with Stampin' Up ink: Early Expresso.  Inside I printed the definition of a Hero.  Now I am ready to create more!!!  However, I'm afraid it is on to cleaning out the craft room. Yuck! I can't get rid of any of my stuff.  How can I decide what to give up?  Any suggestion on organization of a "billion" things? :)
Sorry for the low light on the picture.  I forgot to take a picture of it until just before I left for graduation. The picture of the inside is on my iphone still.  Have a great evening!

May 8, 2013 Fire Fighter Graduation

I know this isn't a craft post but, I just had to show you a picture to brag a little.  Last night my daughter's youngest son graduated from the Fire Fighter Academy.  Yes, our grandson.. (not the only one).  This is his mother, our beautiful daughter, with him.  Sorry guys.... I just had to do it! We are so proud of him!
